Arrival & Departure
Check‑in is from 4pm, and check‑out is by 10am, unless otherwise agreed.
Smoking & Fire Safety
As Porters Hall is a timber‑framed property, smoking, naked flames, candles and tea lights are not permitted indoors. Fireworks are also not allowed.
A designated smoking area and cigarette bin are provided on the patio.
Fireplaces & Stoves
The log‑burning stoves in the two lounges are available for your enjoyment.
Bedroom fireplaces are decorative only and cannot be used, as they have been capped.
Noise Consideration
Our peaceful countryside setting means sound travels easily. Please keep noise to a minimum after 11pm, both indoors and outdoors, to avoid disturbing neighbours.
Respect for the Property and Grounds
We kindly ask all guests to respect the historic character of Porters Hall, its grounds and any wildlife, taking care to preserve the fabric and heritage of the property during their stay.
Moat Safety
Whilst the moat is fenced, children must not be left unattended in the grounds.
For safety reasons, entering or swimming in the moat is not permitted.

Up to 4 well‑behaved dogs are welcome. Please keep them off the furniture, and—except for assistance dogs—downstairs only.
Dog beds are provided in the utility room for cosy overnight stays. There are also two kennels provided in the grounds.
Muddy Paws
An outdoor dog shower is available. We kindly ask that muddy dogs are washed and dried before coming back into the house.
Dog Waste
Please pick up and bag any dog waste and place it in the designated outdoor dog poo bin (or the general outdoor rubbish bin).
Restricted Areas
For your safety, please avoid any areas marked “Private – No Access”, especially the farmyard, which is a working area with agricultural machinery.
Toilets & Drainage
Porters Hall is not connected to the mains sewer system. Only toilet paper should be flushed. Please use the bags and bins provided for sanitary products, nappies, wet wipes and similar items.
Unpermitted events
Events, parties, or gatherings beyond those agreed at the time of booking are not permitted, without prior written approval. We are unable to accept bookings for stag or hen parties.
Before You Leave
Before departing, we would greatly appreciate it if you could empty all bins, ensure plates, glasses, cutlery and cookware are washed and put away and leave the dishwashers empty.
Please also shut all windows and lock the doors, leaving the keys to the front door in the key safe and leave all other keys on the kitchen island.
